THOR Ready Set Rock Camp 2014 – Session 1 Rocked!!!

Wow! The second year of our new Ready Set Rock beginner Rock Camp was a total success! With 19 rockers-in-training coming to the THOR-BK space this year, we were able to really turn up the volume on the festivities and activities.

The group was split into two bands, dubbed “Maximum Heat” and “On Air” by the members, and each band wrote two originals and learned one cover song (“Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes). Among the activities were making multi-track recordings of their main original song, as well as recording a music video for the tracks. They also experienced a real rock photo shoot by Tracey Noelle Luz, a silk-screening demo by Peter McGouran of Polluted Eyeball where they made their own t-shirts, a tour of the Micro Museum by Kathleen Laziza, a rock lighting/projection demo by keytar lighting director B.A. Miale, and finished off with a performance complete with B.A.’s projections in front of a packed house of family and friends.

We feel like this Summer program is really coming into it’s own now and the campers actually learned a lot while they were having way too much fun – and that is always our goal at THOR!
